WATER PROBLEM IN JAUNAPUR DELHI

Dear Sir/Madam, We, the undersigned residents of Sunrise Building, Jaunapur (near Gyan Kunj School) , are compelled to submit this collective legal complaint regarding the prolonged and complete failure of regular water supply in our building for over a year. Despite repeated complaints, representations, and follow-ups with the concerned authorities, no permanent or effective resolution has been implemented. The continued absence of reliable water access has created a situation of extreme hardship for all residents, including senior citizens, working professionals, women, and young children. Water — an essential civic service — is not a privilege but a fundamental necessity for survival, health, and sanitation. Its prolonged denial raises serious concerns about administrative accountability and the fulfillment of statutory obligations. Residents are being forced to depend on privately arranged tractor water on an almost weekly basis simply to meet basic household needs such as ...

How Art Shapes Emotional Interior Experiences

Roy, A. (2026). Beyond decoration: The emotional psychology of art placement in contemporary interiors. International Journal of Arts, Architecture & Design,  4 (1), 56–70.  https://worlduniversityofdesign.ac.in/JAARD/paper-5-vol-4-no-1/ The Science and Strategy of Art Placement in Contemporary Interiors Is art in interior spaces merely decorative, or does it fundamentally shape how we feel, think, and behave within built environments? Contemporary research increasingly points toward the latter. Art is no longer just a finishing touch — it is emerging as a powerful design tool capable of influencing emotional wellbeing, cognitive response, spatial perception, and social connection. In “Beyond Decoration: The Emotional Psychology of Art Placement in Contemporary Interiors,” Dr. Anindita Roy explores how thoughtfully curated and strategically positioned artworks transform interiors into psychologically responsive environments. By synthesizing insights from enviro...

New Year Under A Northward Sun

Warm wishes for 2026 to our South Delhi community.  As the new year gently unfolds, there’s a subtle but unmistakable change in the air—the light lingers longer, mornings feel less heavy, and evenings glow with promise. This is not coincidence. We are entering Uttarayan , the auspicious northward journey of the Sun after months of Dakshinayan . Our scriptures describe this as a turning point in the cosmic rhythm, when dormancy gives way to awakening, and renewal quietly begins its work. Closer home, this seasonal shift finds expression in shared traditions. On the night of January 13, Lohri will light up our neighbourhoods with crackling bonfires and collective joy. Sesame seeds, peanuts, popcorn, and gur are offered to the flames, marking the retreat of winter and the hope of a generous harvest. The beat of the dhol, the warmth of fire, and familiar faces gathered in a circle remind us that celebration is as much about community as it is about ritual. A short walk away...

BURNING TOXIC SCRAP FOR WINTER WARMTH

Winter Warning: Let’s Stay Warm Without Warming the Planet Try to stop burning of  Dry leaves mixed with plastic wrappers, Disposable cups, Rubber scraps and even old tyres.   By Arpita Arora , GKE1 Step outside on a winter morning in Delhi. Can you smell it? That sharp, smoky bite in the air that settles in your throat before the day has even begun. As we pull on our warm jackets, sip hot tea, and retreat indoors, thousands of people spend their days—and nights—out in the cold. Security guards standing at gates, drivers waiting in parked cars, sanitation workers on early-morning rounds, construction labourers braving the chill—many of them have only one way to keep warm. They light a fire. But what are they burning? Dry leaves mixed with plastic wrappers. Disposable cups. Rubber scraps. Sometimes even old tyres.   What feels like a small fire for warmth quietly turns into a cloud of toxic smoke, adding to Delhi’s already suffocating winter air. We alrea...
